Karan Soni (born January 8, 1989, New Delhi, India) is an Indian-American actor who moved to the United States to study business at the University of Southern California before redirecting his ambitions toward acting. He made his feature film debut in the indie science-fiction comedy Safety Not Guaranteed (2012) and followed it with a lead role in the Amazon series Betas (2013).
Soni became widely known to mainstream audiences for portraying Dopinder, the devoted and aspiring mercenary taxi driver, in the Deadpool films: Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018), and Deadpool and Wolverine (2024). On television he was a series regular on Blunt Talk (2015-2016) and on the TBS anthology comedy Miracle Workers (2019-2023). He also voiced Pavitr Prabhakar, the Spider-Man of Mumbai, in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023).
In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016), Soni played Bennie, the Chinese restaurant delivery driver who becomes an unlikely recurring presence in the Ghostbusters' lives. He was already familiar with director Paul Feig and several of the film's cast members through his work on the Yahoo! Screen comedy series Other Space (2015), which also starred Milana Vayntrub, Neil Casey, and Eugene Cordero.
