Kevin Dunn (born August 24, 1956, Chicago, Illinois) is an American character actor and the brother of comedian and actress Nora Dunn. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1977 and made his first television appearance in 1986. Dunn was considered for the role of George Costanza during the casting of Seinfeld but lost out to Jason Alexander, though he did appear briefly in the series in 1990.
Over the following decades Dunn became a reliable supporting presence in major Hollywood productions. He appeared as FBI Agent Bird in Mississippi Burning (1988), in Ghostbusters II (1989), in the action parody Hot Shots! (1991), in the historical epic 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992), in Godzilla (1998), and in Oliver Stone's Nixon (1995). He is perhaps most widely recognized for playing Ron Witwicky, Sam's father, across Michael Bay's Transformers franchise. On television he played White House Chief of Staff Ben Cafferty in the HBO political comedy Veep. Ivan Reitman, who directed Ghostbusters II, later worked with Dunn again on Dave and Draft Day.
In Ghostbusters II, Dunn appeared in the uncredited role of Milton Angland, one of the supporting New York characters woven through the film's ensemble.
