Rosanna Scotto

Rosanna Scotto (born April 29, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American broadcast journalist and television anchor. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Catholic University of America, and later received honorary doctorates from Mount St. Mary College and St. John's University. Her television career began at Ted Turner's WTBS in Atlanta, where she worked as a reporter and associate producer. She returned to New York as a reporter for WABC's Good Morning New York before joining WNYW Fox 5, where she has served as a news anchor and co-host of Good Day New York since 1986. Over her tenure at Fox 5, Scotto has won five Emmy Awards and multiple Associated Press First Place Awards for her reporting.
In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016), Scotto appeared as herself in the role of Fox 5 News Anchor #2 alongside her real-life Fox 5 colleague Greg Kelly (Fox 5 News Anchor #1), covering the paranormal events unfolding in New York City. The pair is seen in Chapter 16 commenting on the aftermath of the Mercado Hotel incident. The casting reflected the film's broader approach of using actual New York media figures for its broadcast news sequences, alongside NY1 News anchor Pat Kiernan.
Outside journalism and her Ghostbusters cameo, Scotto is a co-owner of Fresco by Scotto, a family restaurant in New York City. In 2019 she was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.
