Career
Wood built his early professional reputation as a storyboard artist on a series of 1990s animated television productions. He contributed storyboards to the DiC/Saban animated series Sonic the Hedgehog (13 episodes, 1994), then to the Street Fighter: The Animated Series (13 episodes, 1996-1997) and The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest (3 episodes, 1996-1997). He also served in the art department on the 1996 animated Jumanji television series.1
By 1997 Wood had stepped into episodic directing. He joined Extreme Ghostbusters as both director and storyboard artist for its sole 1997-1998 season.1
Wood subsequently moved to Seth MacFarlane's Fox animated properties. He directed episodes of Family Guy during its second and third seasons (1999 onwards), with confirmed directorial credits including "Fore Father," "Peter Griffin: Husband, Father...Brother?," and the "Supergriffins" segment of "Family Guy Viewer Mail No. 1." He worked on American Dad! from 2003 to 2008 across 22 episodes as a prop designer and storyboard artist.1
Extreme Ghostbusters
Deadliners (1997)
Wood directed and provided storyboards for the fifth aired episode of Extreme Ghostbusters, "Deadliners" (production number 104, first aired September 5, 19972, written by Duane Capizzi). The episode centers on the Extreme Ghostbusters investigating a series of abductions tied to reclusive horror novelist J.N. Kline (a pastiche of R.L. Stine) and the Vathek, spectral beings who enter the physical world through the act of writing. The episode was animated by Koko Enterprise Company, Ltd.
The Crawler (1997)
Wood co-directed "The Crawler" (production number 109, the eleventh episode by air date, first aired September 22, 19972, written by Steve Slavkin) alongside Gloria Jenkins. The episode follows Janine Melnitz as she attempts to make Egon jealous by going on a date, only to discover her companion is Cohila, an Incan insect demon intent on turning her into his queen. It was also animated by Koko Enterprise Company, Ltd.
