Career

Williams built her professional foundation in musical theatre, earning credits at some of the United Kingdom's leading producing houses including Theatre Royal Stratford East, Sheffield Crucible, and the West End.

Her stage work covers a range of styles. Early West End credits include Daddy Cool (2006)3, a jukebox musical built around the catalogue of Boney M, and Hair, the classic counterculture rock musical. She continued with Wah! Wah! Girls, a Kneehigh/Sadler's Wells co-production drawing on Bollywood and British-Asian music hall traditions, as well as Takeaway and Sweet Soul Music4. At Theatre Royal Stratford East she played Granny, Yolanda, and Nilda in the 2017 production of The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, a Kirsten Childs musical comedy that the venue co-produced with Belgrade Theatre Coventry4. Other stage credits at Theatre Royal Stratford East include Dick Whittington and Rapunzel. In 2018 she appeared as Sandra and hospital staff in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at the Sheffield Crucible, in a production directed by Javaad Alipoor5. Further credits listed by her representation include Downstate (National Theatre), House Music, and Billie the Kid (Vaudeville Theatre, 2023)6. Williams has also worked as a director: she directed Tasting Notes in a West End engagement in 20223.

Her most sustained television role to date is Councillor Lana in Coronation Street, in which she appeared across multiple episodes between 2022 and 20251.

In the 2024 ITVX and BritBox International thriller series Passenger, directed by Lee Haven Jones, Williams played Dina Dawson across five of the six episodes2. The series starred Wunmi Mosaku as a former Metropolitan Police officer investigating a series of disappearances in a northern English village, and premiered on ITV1 and ITVX on 24 March 20242.

Additional screen credits include The Whale (Netflix/STV), in which she played Nixon's Solicitor6.
