Sophia Lucia Parola is an American actress, screenwriter, filmmaker, and certified reiki therapist of first-generation Liberian and Argentinean heritage, born and raised in New Jersey. Her mother named her after Sophia Loren. She came to acting at age six, finding film and performance a meaningful form of personal expression, and later earned an Associate of Arts degree in journalism from Brookdale Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio and television communications from Monmouth University. Her formal acting training included study at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, the Neighborhood Playhouse, and Kimball Studio, among other institutions. Her stage debut was the role of Isabella in a community college production of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure.
Beyond acting, Parola works as a host for the Garden State Film Festival and has developed her own projects as a director and screenwriter. Her screen credits include Meatloaf and Pie at the Sunset Cafe and Last Known Location (2024).
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024), she appeared as Woman (Beach), a character appearing in one of the film's opening sequences set along the New York waterfront.
