He has developed a career primarily in British television drama, with notable credits including Time (BBC, starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham), The Responder (BBC), Sherwood (BBC), One Day (Netflix), The Suspect, Silent Witness, and Cleaning Up. His work has placed him in high-profile British drama productions across the first half of the 2020s.
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024), Whitfield appeared as the Fire Captain (1904), a character featured in a period flashback sequence depicting an early encounter with the supernatural threat at the center of the film's story.
