Susan Boehm is an actress and film industry professional whose connection to the Ghostbusters franchise came about through a combination of coincidence and determination. She first encountered the original Ghostbusters (1984) production when she happened to pass through the Tribeca filming location while running an errand and stayed to watch out of curiosity, drawn in part by her appreciation for Bill Murray. When production on Ghostbusters II was underway several years later, she made plans to appear as an extra, but sustained an injury in the days before filming, breaking her leg after climbing a fence into Gramercy Park and waking up at NYU Medical Center. Undeterred, she arrived on set on crutches on the day of filming. Director Ivan Reitman noticed her among the assembled extras and cast her on the spot.
In Ghostbusters II (1989), Boehm portrayed a Young Woman on Crutches, a passerby visible in the film's opening sequence as Dana Barrett walks home with Oscar in his stroller. Her film credits also include The Rocket and Celeste. She has also worked in production roles in the film industry.
