Ghostbusters 35th Anniversary: Extreme Ghostbusters
The fourth and final issue of IDW's four-part 35th Anniversary mini-series, released April 24, 2019. The mini-series celebrated the franchise's anniversary by pairing a different creative team with a different Ghostbusters incarnation for each issue. Dallas and Beard handled the Extreme Ghostbusters installment, with art by Tim Lattie, colors by Luis Antonio Delgado, letters by Neil Uyetake, and editing by Tom Waltz and Megan Brown.
The story centers on the Extreme Ghostbusters responding to a crisis at the Central Park Zoo, where possessed animals have begun demanding their release. A single entity is revealed to be orchestrating the possession as an act of revenge against humanity.
Development was documented publicly: Jim Beard's pitch was accepted on November 26, 2018; Dallas confirmed he spent the final three days finishing the script around December 23, 2018; the script was approved December 27, 2018; and the issue went to print in March 2019. A convention variant cover was later released July 18, 2019, with all four convention variants sold as a bundle at San Diego Comic Con.
