Slimer! NOW Comics Issue 1

Slimer! #1 is the debut issue of the Slimer! comic book series published by NOW Comics, released in May 1989. The series follows Slimer in standalone comedic stories largely separate from the main Ghostbusters continuity, with the four Ghostbusters appearing in supporting roles. The front cover was painted by Mitch O'Connell. The issue contains two stories, both written by Hilarie Staton and illustrated by penciler Dave Schwartz and inker/colorist Jorge Pacheco.
Stories
Story One
On Ray Stantz's birthday, the Ghostbusters receive a call and head out on a job. Back at the firehouse, Janine Melnitz and Slimer begin mixing batter for a birthday cake, only to discover they are out of butter. Janine leaves to buy more. While alone, Slimer hears a call for help from inside the firehouse and investigates, inadvertently opening a ghost trap and releasing a ghost named Sparky.
Sparky proceeds to cause mischief throughout the firehouse and neighborhood while Slimer scrambles to contain the chaos before the Ghostbusters return. Other characters appearing in this story include Mrs. Wittle, Manx, Luigi, and George, along with additional ghosts haunting George's residence.

Story Two
