Slimer! The Real Ghostbusters 3-D Slimer Special is a one-shot comic published by NOW Comics in the Summer of 1993 (July 1993). It holds the distinction of being the final NOW Comics publication connected to either The Real Ghostbusters or Slimer franchises. Despite carrying "Real Ghostbusters" in its title, the book reads closer to the main Slimer! comic series than to the Real Ghostbusters line, with Slimer at the center of both stories and the Ghostbusters appearing only in supporting or cameo roles. The issue was presented in 3-D format, in keeping with the anaglyphic glasses gimmick common to promotional specials of the era.
Both stories inside are reprints of material originally published by Marvel Comics UK for their Real Ghostbusters series, making this special a North American collection of British-market content.

Slimer's Unbirthday

Slimer misses his scheduled visit with Chilly Cooper and heads instead to Luigi's restaurant looking for something to eat. He arrives to find Luigi temporarily unable to see properly: an eye doctor has applied drops that have reacted poorly, leaving him effectively blind for the evening. The timing could not be worse, as the renowned food critic Jacques Crochon is booked for dinner that night. Slimer volunteers to do the cooking with Luigi supervising by ear. Their main course, an asparagus souffle, is ruined when Luigi's cat Manx trips him and sends the dish to the floor. With no prepared backup, Slimer takes a shopping list to the nearby store. His errand is a series of collisions and accidents that eventually drives the store manager to chase him out. Even so, Slimer manages to collect food samples from a staff member named Louise and leaves with what he needs. Within two hours, Luigi and Slimer have a full meal plated for the critic. The food is conspicuously green, but Crochon declares it excellent. The punchline: he is traveling on vacation and is therefore not filing any reviews.

Chilly Cooper is driving her ice cream truck and singing for Slimer when a passing record producer hears her voice and offers her a booking for that afternoon. Shortly after he leaves, Chilly steps into her truck's freezer compartment and the door locks shut behind her. Slimer eventually gets her out, but the cold has cost Chilly her voice. Slimer sets out across the city trying to find a cure. He visits Luigi's restaurant (no luck), then flags down the Ecto-1 in the street. Ray Stantz tells Slimer they are on an active call and cannot stop. Slimer next goes to the Sedgewick Hotel, where he runs into Professor Dweeb and is promptly told to leave by hotel manager Morris Grout, who is well aware that Slimer's presence guarantees chaos. While back out on the street, Slimer hears singing: Chilly has recovered her voice on her own. The two make it to the event the record producer had booked her for, a birthday celebration for a girl named Laura.
