Uniform

I finally finished (NO...REALLY FINISHED THIS TIME!) my GBI uniform. After all the ebay auctions, and supply hunting it's finally done! UPDATEUPDATE*UPDATE (08/22/07): I added a ton of circuitry to the belt board, as well as added a pouch for the ipod nano that i used for the sound effects (and music). The sound is produced by two Sony speakers that mount perfectly on the alice frame via zipties and velcro. The wire from the speakers to the ipod is hidden perfectly within the spiral wire that hangs between the two boards. PATCHES: First off, yeah, yeah...the name patch does indeed say Mr. Bear: the girlfriend gave me the puppy dog look and well, need i say more. It makes her smile, and it makes others laugh (or shake their heads in dismay :) They are made from scratch. Last time they were felt, but I found it hard to work with, and far to fragile. This time I chose Vinyl: it's easy to sew and you can get the lines defined and accurate without fray. I hand embroidered the details of the ghost with a needle and black thread. TUBING: I really have to say a big thanks to GhostbusterFreek. He may not know this, but the forum posts that he did, as well as his pictures posted in the props section REALLY helped me with putting this thing together. I didn't dye the tube like everyone else. Instead, I ran three necklace glowsticks through, this looks great at night! ELBOW PADS: Ordered these look-alike pads from S&S worldwide (someone posted a thread about this place and I followed the bread crumbs) They were way too long and they had funny lettering on them when I got them. I burned / cut off the lettering, and turned the pads inside-out, folded the long ends together and sewed. Sprayed gray. UTILITY BELT: Bought from site's store. CIRCUIT APPARATUS: tape measure holder from a hardware shop, cut and sprayed black. Used fuses instead of nixies. Built the entire circuit board from some blank board at radio shack and cheap circuits I found there too. The blank section on the board is where I will mount an I pod nano w/ sounds & music that will feed through the curly wire to speakers mounted in the alice frame.
