UPDATEUPDATEUPDATE: I finally finished renovating the very same proton pack I used last year for Halloween. I told myself I would rebuild the thrower before summer 07 finished, and success! It's fully functional...lights and all! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pictures of the pack below are so distinctly different that it may lead one to believe that i built three different proton packs, but truth be told: they are all the same pack, just with MULTIPLE revamps! So where to begin?
Some interesting facts: 1) 90% screen accurate - some minor sizing issues...mistakes happen when you decide this 4 days before halloween - what a noob! 2) Mostly wood: all resistors, elbows, clippards built from scratch. 3) Labels - thank you HProps, and Kinkos lamination machine! 4) Electronics - housing made for bicycle light for power cell (changed leds from red -> green), there are also lights in the gun, and in the cyclotron. 5) Small split loom / wire insulation that lead to HGA are bendable straws! 6) I used wood spackle to get rid of woodgrain and splits in the construction. 7)Sound is produced with an ipod nano (see my uniform). 8)I made my gun grips from Axe body wash bottles and it came out great! HERES SOME BEFORE-AFTER SHOTS THROUGH MY PACKS STAGES OF MODIFICATION (Things got kinda mixed up as i uploaded shots. The oldest is the plain one, the middle is the "weathered" one, and the current version is the pretty one):
