The Proton Pack features several parts made by Clippard Instrument Laboratory Inc. Most of these parts are still available unchanged since the early 80's they can be purchased via their online store, or the GB Fans Shop!Clippard Modular Valve R-701imageThe Clippard Modular Valve, R-701, has a great cosmetic value to the gun. It is believed to act as one of the main adjustments for the particle stream. It is most likely what Venkman would have used to shorten his stream to prevent Spengler's face from being burned off in Ghostbusters. The R-701 is made by the Clippard Minimatic corporation located in Cincinnati OH. It was one of the first found items for the Proton Packs, as it says right on its label what it is, and who makes it. The most amazing thing about it, is its still available from Clippard and hasn't changed in 25 years. (http://www.clippard.com/store/display_details.asp?sku=R-701)"]R-701 is a self-relieving, adjustable pressure regulator with multiple output ports. Pressure can be piped directly from ports 2,4,6 and 8. Eliminates need for additional fittings. Unused output ports should be plugged. The Clippard R-701 is installed on the gun with the schematic and "R-701" side facing up, with the Clippard label towards the bottom of the gun. It is mounted using the screws that come with the valve, they are 10-32 size slotted round heads.Clippard Modular Valve R-331imageThe Clippard Modular Valve, R-331, is a varied adjustment located on the back of the Proton Pack, and mounted on the Spacer. It is most likely one of the final adjustable parts past the crank generator before the particles make their way to the gun. The R-331 is made by the Clippard Minimatic corporation located in Cincinnati OH. It was one of the first found items for the Proton Packs, as it says right on its label what it is, and who makes it. The most amazing thing about it, is its still available from Clippard and hasn't changed in 25 years. (http://www.Clippard.com/)"]R-331 and R-333 are dual element combinations consisting of a fully ported, spring return, 3-way valve and an adjustable flow control to provide a delay "IN" function. Input signal at port 4 will be delayed through adjustable flow control and will delay. The Clippard R-331 is installed on the pack with the schematic and "R-331" side facing up (towards the sky), with the Clippard label towards the bottom of the pack. It is mounted using socket head cap screws size 10-32. Clippard also makes several suitable alternatives to the R-331 (see the R-333, R-501, or R-502), so if you can't find one of the R-331's locally you might be able to find one of the other similar ones and no one will know the difference.Clippard #11752 Hose BarbThe Clippard #11752 barb is seen on the Proton Gun where the green hose is located near the switches. They are also used in conjunction with the #15090 fitting below.Clippard #15090 L-FittingThree of these Clippard #15090 fittings are found on the Proton Pack. They are used in conjunction with the #11752 hose barbs to form an Elbow fitting.
