Pistol Belt
2 min read
The belts worn in both films as well as the 2009 video game are U.S. Army WWII M-1936 Pistol Belts. They were light grey in Ghostbusters and khaki in Ghostbusters II. They hold equipment such as the Belt Gizmo, MT-500 Radio, and the Ghost Trap, in addition to being a convenient place to hang the black rubber gloves.
Various leather key fobs are worn on the belt to hold equipment such as the Neutrona Wand and Ecto Goggles.
Ghostbusters IIIn Ghostbusters II, these black 3.0" pistol belts are worn with the dark grey uniforms during the montage, as well as the khaki uniforms during the battle with Vigo. They appear to be based on modern military web belts, yet they have an adjustable 2.0" inner strap (made of either seatbelt webbing or regular nylon) with a 2.0" quick-release buckle. The Lifegard II PASS Alarms are also worn with these belts.
The traditional leather key fobs have been replaced with nylon straps that have various D-rings, O-rings, and V-rings. The following is a list of the rings and snaps based on screen-captures and production stills:
1.0" Snap Hook w/ grey strap
1.0" Bolt Snap w/ black strap
1.0" Beefy Bolt Snap w/ black strap
1.5" D-ring w/ black strap
2.0" D-ring w/ black strap
2.0" O-ring w/ black strap
2.0" V-ring w/ black strap

Ghostbusters: The Video GameIn the 2009 video game, the belts are the same U.S. Army WWII M-1936 Pistol Belts that were used in the first film. A black version of this belt comes with the downloadable Ghostbusters II flight suit.
These belts use the Style 1, Style 2, and Style 3 key fobs (as well as an inverted version of Style 1) from the first film and still hold the Belt Gizmo, PKE Meter, modified Lifegard II PASS Alarm and the Ghost Trap. Rather than being carried in holsters, the radios are now conveniently clipped to a strap on the Proton Pack.
The Ecto Goggles are carried on a combination V-hook/carabiner strap.
