Eugene Cordero

Eugene Cordero is an American comedian, actor, and writer born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in its northern suburbs. A first-generation Filipino American with both parents from the Philippines, Cordero has spoken openly in interviews about the importance of authentic Asian American representation in entertainment. Early in his career he performed at numerous comedy venues and built a following in the improv and sketch world before transitioning to television and film.
On television Cordero has appeared as a series regular in Other Space (2015), Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ (2017 to 2019), Tacoma FD (2019 to 2021), and the Disney+ series Loki (from 2021). He voices Lieutenant junior grade Sam Rutherford in the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020 to 2024) and has had recurring and guest roles in shows including Drunk History, Silicon Valley, The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. His film work includes Kong: Skull Island (2017) and The Mule (2018).
In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016) Cordero played the Bass Guitarist, a musician performing at the concert hall where the Ghostbusters respond to a supernatural disturbance, appearing briefly in the mayhem that follows.
