Jesse Gallegos is an American actor, writer, director, and producer born in Lexington, Kentucky, to parents of Argentine and Canadian immigrant backgrounds. He moved to northern Louisiana as a young teenager and began acting in school before focusing on sports through high school. A knee injury that ended his basketball career in college redirected him to the stage and screen full time. He trained extensively in theater before moving into film and television, working for over a decade across independent productions and major network series.
His recurring television credits include the role of Nester in Bosch: Legacy on Amazon Prime and Robert Udashen in Hulu's Candy. He has also appeared in The Walking Dead: World Beyond, The Resident, First Kill, The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat, and the feature film Greyhound (2020). His independent film work earned recognition at festivals including the Austin Film Festival and the FirstGlance Film Festival, where he shared a Best Ensemble Cast award. Outside of acting he holds a sailing captain certification and volunteers at a creative nonprofit.
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024) Gallegos played the Vape Shop Clerk at Firemaster Smoke N Vape, who becomes Garraka's first on-screen victim. The clerk has his back turned to the entrance and is stocking a shelf when Garraka enters and asks whether he is the Fire Master, in a reference to the ancient order that imprisoned him millennia earlier. The clerk, unaware of who or what Garraka is, sarcastically replies that he is and tells the entity to read the sign. An icicle shoots out from the shelf and shatters the clerk's body. The character is wearing a New York Rangers throwback legacy jersey during the scene. Adam Murray originally auditioned for the role in November 2023. The Firemaster Smoke N Vape encounter is later referenced in Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, in which Garraka repeats the question, "Are you the firemaster?"
