The late Lorenzo Music was noticeable because of his trademark low-key drawl that he brought to each character he portrayed, but his legend was cemented through his signature work on bringing Jim Davis's comic strip phenom "Garfield" to life, starting in 1982 with the television special "Here Comes Garfield". Until his death in 2001, he was closely identified with the character, portraying him in various media across commercials, TV specials, and Garfield's own eponymous television series from 1988 until 1994.
For many in the Ghostbusters community, Music is known for his first season portrayal of the "leader of the Ghostbusters" Peter Venkman on Real Ghostbusters, following Bill Murray's live-action turn in the 1984 film. Although his stint on the series was short-lived, he left an impact that was felt when his replacement, Dave Coulier, was unable to match Music's ability to tap into Venkman's personality, making him a seperate entity from Murray.
