Mark Schneider

Mark Schneider is an American actor and comedian who got his start in the comedy world through the Second City theater network before moving into film and television. His early film appearances included low-budget productions such as Burnout and the cult road picture Supervan, which established a foundation before bigger-profile work followed.

In Ghostbusters II (1989), Schneider played the Husband of the Arguing Couple, one of the feuding New York City residents whose street quarrel appears in the film's opening montage of city life. He and his wife, played by Valery Pappas, are arguing on a sidewalk when Egon Spengler runs electromagnetic tests on them as part of the Ghostbusters' investigation into the Psychomagnotheric Slime rising from below the city. The Arguing Couple later carried over into IDW Publishing's Ghostbusters comics: in Ghostbusters Volume 2 Issue #1, they appear as bystanders witnessing a kidnapping, identified as the same couple Egon had previously subjected to his street-level measurements in the film. He later went on to appear in Blake Edwards' Son of the Pink Panther, and in A Minor Miracle alongside John Huston in one of that director's final film appearances. On television, Schneider was part of the cast of the Fox prime-time serial Forever and appeared in MTV's short-lived soap opera format Spyder Games.
