Matteo Borghese

Matteo Borghese is an American writer, producer, and actor. He holds an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Southern California, where he met his long-term writing partner Rob Turbovsky. After graduation, the pair wrote a pilot script together that earned them representation and their first professional writing job on the HBO comedy series Silicon Valley. Their subsequent credits span television and feature film across comedy, animation, and action-adventure.
As a television writer, Borghese and Turbovsky have worked on Silicon Valley, Lady Dynamite, Black Monday, No Activity, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, among other series. Their most prominent ongoing credit is Only Murders in the Building (Hulu), on which they serve as co-executive producers and writers, a role that has earned them Primetime Emmy, Golden Globe, PGA, and WGA nominations. In feature film, the pair contributed to the scripts for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), Office Christmas Party (2016), The Peanuts Movie (2015), and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020).
In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016), a film to which he contributed as a writer, Borghese also appears on screen as the Lightboard Operator at the Stonebrook Theatre, the concert venue where the Ghostbusters encounter one of their early cases.
