Proton Pack

So here's my custom proton pack it's a bit of everything honestly. At first I wanted a TVG styled pack but after seeing some of the other packs and seeing that they all had unique aspects of which I liked i decided "hey? Why don't I just make my own hybrid? I see people do it all the time and the whole point is to have fun!" So fast forward some time and boom here I am adding little bits from other packs and bits that are completely custom. The idea started when I was simply talking to my father about getting back into Ghostbusters after moving away from starwars for a bit, I wanted to check if there were any packs that were ready to go and how expensive they were and to my surprise there were a few so I did some research and went down the rabbit hole of Ghostbusters, I searched eBay at first but alot of they were overcharged for a "deluxe" pack which was really small for my own liking. Others were completely broken and just not worth my time to fix. So I moved away from eBay and looked into Facebook marketplace and I found one about an hour or so from where I lived. It was in rough shape. Missing the bottom half of the neutrona wand, missing the cyclotron diffuser windows and a bunch of other stuff. I decided to buy it and face the challenge ahead of me. I spent about $180 on it and took it to the drawing board. The total time I could say I've been building this has to be for about a year now, give or take. Mostly because I was searching for a good alternative to the neutrona wand, eventually discovering the Spengler neutrona wand. I eventually found the wand on AliExpress for about $50 by some miracle, now I believe it's gone up in price. The pack was eventually painted completely black with a mix of paint, filler and primer as for what brand I used? I'm not exactly sure I don't remember the brand but I'll try to list it. The pack was obviously sanded prior to painting it allowing the paint to stick better. The pack, once being done painted and primed was later weathered using a silver paint marker, one of those fancy ones for the chipped edges and I decided I wanted to go with a look of the paint chipping off or flaking off this entire process took about 2 days since it's entirely done by hand and not some effect you can achieve by other methods. The effect was all naturally thought of on the spot. Afterwards all the painting was done I sealed it with an acrylic sealer. The next step of my build was to add weathering powder to give it a fine and rough texture on some areas as well add a bit of a color change with the powder. This process took about a month of layering one in which unfortunately no matter what I try the camera just doesn't do it justice. Once that was finalized I sealed everything yet again. Bought warning labels for the pack off of Etsy and reattached the original hoses and bita it had originally. I then moved on to the attachments, for the alike tank at the time I couldn't find a proper one so I did some research on what was the closest thing possible and I found that a water bottle was the closest, went to my local Safeway and purchased a smart water bottle one of those long fat ones. Once the bottle was empty I refilled it and added a mix of green paint with some green glitter paint and mixed it. Unfortunately as time went on the glitter just faded?? I don't know why this happened but the green color stayed so I was happy with that. The reason I added water was because while doing the research I wanted it to feel legit, heavy and have liquid I wanted to do something I hadn't seen others do with their packs so I did that. I later found a id say maybe 7 - 10 foot clear plastic hose that I filled with water and mixed it with green paint to get that slime color, and ran the whole thing through and out of the pack and connected it to the tank piece I decided to take it a step further and I found this old water filtration pump that would pull the water and expell it at a reasonable force kinda like a water hose that struggles when you step on it, I attached it to the bottle using an old broken neutrona wand from the 2016 reboot toy pack, and fit the pump there and connected the hose there and into a unit that sat next to the gun, I ran some tests and it would shoot it out like a portable water hose with the force of a water pistol-. The side unit that sat next to the gun though was too heavy and would cause the gun to sag on the pack when connected so I removed it until I find a smaller and lighter alternative. I later moved onto the electronics something I was having a bit of trouble finding that was within my budget at the time. And that's when I discovered this amazing site. I bought the lights and sound controller, cyclotron LED ring, Vent LED ring, and the Power LED bar, 40 watt speaker. I assembled everything and found spots for each of the components within the pack I later added a red push button for the music on the side of the pack near the bottom, an alternative power switch on the same area to get the whole pack into fire mode and also a potentiometer I ordered from Amazon since the original potentiometer that came with the kit never worked? It just never changed anything despite being connected to the right spot. I added other LEDs that were connected to a separate power source for different areas and I added a plasma ball where the booster tube is. Please note that since the plasma ball contains a large generator it caused it to get really hot and became a bit of a hazard so I wired it to the rod that is used for the ion arm to disperse any extra voltage, please do also note to NOT touch the rid while the plasma ball is on since it shocks people, not very painful but pretty funny I removed the original hose for the pack to the wand and added a larger grey toned hose for more flexibility and connected the slime hose to the main hose I also added an alternative way to power the pack on and that's by using a switch that sits underneath the ion arm, also added these glass tubes on the side of the pack and have liquid in them with different colors for different "ectoplasm" effects all sealed with water proof sealant ofc. I hollowed out the N filter and added the vent/N filter LED ring and tested it until It worked wired some extra buttons from the main controller board to the Spengler wand and a switch to separately control the pack from the wand. All of the switches and buttons are detachable using M and F connectors that hide unter the hose or within the hose. I also added an LED in the front of the wand to simulate that bright flash at the end of the wand when firing and all of this is powered by a talentcell battery pack!
