Proton Pack

Say hello to my PFS (Pieced from Scrap) Pack. Now if you want a "junk from around the house" pack, this has to be it. Built with mostly cardboard, and covered with a layering of fiberglass, this pack has got to be one of the cheapest built, and having it look acurrate enough to fool the next person. As it can be seen, it's got cracks and holes in it. I know, I know, please don't point it out. There are a lot of screwed up things, but hey, self-funded at 17, some things just have to give. Most of the construction was acheved in about 2 days, but took the rest of the year to finish. Well, I had other things in my life, you know. As you can see from the parts attached, the one object that seems to keep being used were bottle caps. Two dale resisters, a couple of dials, the crank generator knob, the booster plug... hey, if it works, use it! :) The gun hook is actually a tube-in-tube system, which is easy to use. I might change it though. The gun itself is really a 4x4 wood block cut to shape. No lights or switches have been added as of yet. The light situation on the pack altogether are all individual lights turned on before the pack is worn. The lights flash, but it isn't "flashy" in the sense of impressing people. Due to change. Update, 6/6/03: I am currently working on rebuilding the gun, and making the lighting system internal, as opposed to having the light reflectors sitting on the top of the Cyclotron. The new gun will be made from styrene, will have semi-proper grips, and will be glued together by super strong epoxy. The wires/pnumatic tubing has been recovered with not paint, but with vynal colored tape. the ribbon cable has been re-coiled and relined to go onto its proper place going over the top of the attenuator. The bumper has also been revamped slightly. all atifically made parts have been either been replaced and/or changed to the most proper look i can afford. missing details are still under construction. blue power cell light will be added with a crappy and cheap style to it. 8/17/03: I have now FINALLY taken new pictures of my pack. I've been working on the lights and most of the outside of the pack shell. As you can see, I've also made a new gun, and wired it all up. I hope you like it!
