A Project Born for the Red Carpet, Built for the Road
This particular Ecto-1 build started life as a Florida shop's showpiece for the Ghostbusters: Afterlife premiere, built to look stunning, not to rack up highway miles. When the current owners took it on, they quickly discovered just how much work stood between them and a car they could actually trust. A worn-out engine, wiring chewed apart by rodents, and suspension that made the thing genuinely dangerous to drive were just the beginning.
Key Restoration Highlights:
Powertrain Upgrade: Out went the tired original powerplant, replaced by an LS2 V8 pulled from a 2006 Corvette and mated to a 4L65E transmission, interestingly, not far off from the same swap done on the real Ecto-1 for Afterlife and Frozen Empire.
Electrical Overhaul: The rodent-damaged mess was stripped out and rebuilt using a Painless wiring harness, with a custom relay system added specifically to keep those lights and sirens firing the way they should.
Suspension & Brakes: The whole front end was redesigned from scratch, tubular A-arms, coilovers, and a disc brake conversion that finally lets this heavy old Cadillac behave itself at speed.
Modern Touches: A Dakota Digital gauge cluster and a RetroSound head unit now handle the interior, with the latter powering the roof speaker so it actually works rather than just sitting there looking the part.

I’m confused, is it “screen-used” or a “tribute”?
The original article said screen-used style, but the summary dropped it. But I agree that even ‘screen-used style’ is not a thing.
