The first release of the "Heart of the Ghostbusters", Dr. Ray Stanz is almost exactly what you'd expect. The body sculpt is a standard version of Ray with decent detail and is accompanied by a mountable 3-dimensional GB logo which is unique to 6" series.

One aspect of the figure that most fans will notice immediately is that the head sculpt is fairly inaccurate and depicts Ray with a rather stern expression on his face,. Which is a stark contrast to the character's generally upbeat attitude.
The first variant figure of Dr. Stanz is often referred to as "Ready to Believe You" Ray. The figure itself depicts Ray dawning the classic blue lap coat and "One of their little toys" from the original GB movie commercial. The head sculpt is identical to that of the standard Ray figure and features the same stern expression as the previous model.

The most appealing aspect of this figure is the inclusion of the subway ghost from the containment unit release scene of the first film. The ghost has great detail and is one of the more visually appealing of the pack in ghosts featured in the series.

The GB2 Ray Stanz figure is part of the Toys R Us exclusive holiday 4 pack, which also includes a ghost trap and pack in Slimer. The figure itself is almost identical to the standard GB1 Ray figure, aside from the dark grey jumpsuit and yellow lifeguard box which replaced the walky talky.

This figure features an identical head sculpt to that of the previous Ray figures, yet has a darker skin tone which is unique to the GB 2 series. It also includes a removable felt santa hat.
Marshmallow mess Ray is very similar to the standard GB1 Ray figure, except for the fact that this figure features gloved hands, globs of marshmallow, includes a pair of green ecto goggles, a walky talky and a marshmallow mess version of the GB logo stand (similar to the stand included with the GB1 version of Venkman).

The main complaint that most fans have about this figure is that the "marshmallow" is very flat and doesn't resemble that of the prototype figure which looked much more 3-dimensional and accurate to the film. However, this problem can be easily fixed by simply applying a thick coat of white acrylic paint to the figure as you see fit.
