Big updates to the Ghostbusters Fans Shop are taking place. Many of them will be invisible, a few of them more noticeable. There are a lot of changes, restocks and news.. so lets go through what is happening.
Supporting Membership Sale Starts Today
That's right. Its time for one of our Supporting Membership sales. Three times per year (Feb, July, Nov.) we have supporting membership sales in the shop that will allow you to take a huge percentage off of your purchase. Normal Supporting Members ($20 per year) will take 5% off their orders. Silver Supporting Members ($35 per year) will take 15% off their orders. Gold Supporting Members ($50 per year) take a whopping 25% off their orders!
Some notes. The Supporting Member discount does not apply to Pre-Orders. So if there is an item coming soon, it will remain the full price. The discount applies to new orders only. We won't cancel existing orders or provide adjustments to old orders. This discount only applies to orders placed in July that are not pre-orders, and for users with an active Supporting Membership at the time of purchase. To get a Supporting Membership see here:

Changes to the GBFans Shop Structure
There are lots of changes occurring to the GBFans Shop that will be seen and unseen. Firstly, related to the Supporting Membership sale, you will now see the amount saved with your Supporting Membership discount. Lots of people have complained that a discount wasn't given for the Supporting Membership sale because it wasn't clear. Now it shows you how much is saved.
Stock levels are no longer public. We have been making lots of changes to the amount of inventory we keep stocked and how items turn over and are replenished. We currently offer an "Out of Stock" and "In Stock" notice. We highly recommend buying the item you need when its in stock vs. waiting. There is no guarantee an item will remain in stock. Some very old items may reappear on the list as "Discontinued".
New category system is in the works. The old shop had items rigidly categorized into just one category. This caused problems for items that would have worked on two categories (for example tubing used on both Proton Pack and Ghost Trap). Additionally the categories listed on the main page are grossly outdated. (We haven't had T-Shirts or Photographs available for years!) Those will be updated with a new main page when you go to the shop.
Recommended or related items may show up on product pages. For example when you look at a page for hat lights, I'd like to see the other hat lights appear at the bottom of the page.
The checkout page has had a little overhaul. The Supporting Member discount is listed on the cart page now. I might add recommendations to the cart page, like adding Free Business cards to your order or a GBFans Lanyard or wristband. Little things that say "I'm a Ghostbusters Fan!". I hope to also add an estimated shipping cost to the cart page, and
perhaps add PayPal back as a payment option. (We prefer Google Checkout).
