Its hard to believe but it has been 26 years since Ghostbusters was released into theathers. When it opened on June 8th, 1984 it became a hit overnight. With an opening weekend of $13 million ($32 million in today's dollars) it would become one of the most sucessful films of all time. In 1985 it was the #6 movie of all time, and today it sits at #32 for highest grossing films of all time, only to recently be bumped down by The Dark Knight and Avatar.
