Activision, the new owner of Sierra Games (the publishers of Ghostbusters: The Video Game) released a press release today that puts the future of the new Ghostbusters Video Game at jeopardy. In the press release, Activison announced that it would be streamlining it's development teams at Vivendi (the producer of the game), and that many projects would be dropped.
While the press release did not specifically mention Ghostbusters, some sites have posted rumors of the game's demise. Notably GameSpot's Article:

Activision keeps Spyro, Crash, Ice Age, Prototype, not publishing Brutal Legend, Ghostbusters, Bourne games, 50 Cent sequel. It seems like some sites are reporting it and others are not.
We do not yet know the outcome of Ghostbusters: The Video Game for sure, but we are betting that if it is dropped by Activision, Sony will step up and have it sent somewhere else to be released. We have one peice of insider news (from a very special Ghostbusters Fan) that states:
We talked with Sony the night before the Comic Con panel was supposed to take place and was told that the panel was canceled because both the game and Blu-Ray Disc were being pushed to next year. Rumors had also developed around the convention floor that the game would be delayed as Sony Pictures Home Entertainment booth representatives started skirting questions about the Blu-ray release date (which was supposed to coincide with the release of the video game). When we asked Ryan French at the booth about it on Sunday, he insisted the October release was still sticking.
