The body of the Giga meter was finally identified and found thanks to a huge effort of dozens of committed fans. Originally it was believed that the Giga Meter was scratch built. But now after Matt Spence found one and posted pictures in our reference section years ago, we have finally found who makes it!
The device, really a power scrubber was made by the Redman Brothers in 1978. It wasn't until the middle 80's when it was modified and used in several films. The "Power Scrubber 'N Buffer" can be found from time to time on eBay, but don't bother bidding. The boys over at
Proptopia have made an effort to replicate it, and sell the casts cheaply.
