Normally I don't report on rumors about Ghostbusters 3 as they never seem to come to light, but in this case it will help clear up some misinformation out there. Most recently it has gotten out that
Judd Apatow is producing a new Ghostbusters movie. This coming after Dan Aykroyd stated in an online chat with the Boston Globe that Ghostbusters 3
could start production this fall. More than likely, this is a continuation of the rumor from last fall where it was said that
Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd and others were going to be in a new Ghostbusters movie. Those rumors were quickly
debunked by Rogan and Rudd, and this time is no different. The Los Angeles Times did a little bit of detective work to get to the bottom of all of these Internet rumors by contacting Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures:
"It's not true. We have some great new writers working on a new script, but Judd isn't involved. Judging from the frenzy on the Internet, there still seems to be plenty of interest in the idea of doing another film, so we're certainly taking that as a good sign."
