Season 4 of The Real Ghostbusters began airing on September 10, 1988. For this run the hour-long broadcast block was renamed Slimer! & The Real Ghostbusters and the format was retooled toward a younger audience. A typical hour paired two fifteen-minute Slimer! segments with a single thirty-minute Real Ghostbusters episode in the middle.
