Slimer! was a comic book series published by NOW Comics, starring Slimer and based on the Slimer! animated segment that spun off from The Real Ghostbusters television show. The run began in May 1989 and continued monthly through November 1990, totaling 19 issues. As the series went on, reprinted The Real Ghostbusters stories from the British Marvel Comics line were folded in alongside the new American material.

Publication run

The series launched with issue #1 in May 1989 and released roughly one issue a month for the next year and a half, ending with issue #19 in November 1990. Early issues paired two new short Slimer stories per book. Beginning with issue #12 (April 1990), the new lead story was supplemented by reprints of The Real Ghostbusters strips originally published by Marvel Comics Ltd. in the UK, and several later issues lean heavily on those reprints to fill out their page count.

After the regular run concluded, the title returned once more in July 1993 with The Real Ghostbusters 3-D Slimer Special, which collected reprinted Marvel stories alongside new Slimer material. A separate trade collection, The Big Comic Book, gathered the contents of issues #1 to #3.
