Plot

While playing outside the Firehouse with a remote-control flying saucer toy, Slimer rounds a corner after the toy and is sucked aboard a real alien spacecraft. He is placed in a room designed to resemble a typical Earth household and served strange food, all while being observed by the ship's two pilots: the imperious Captain Zito and his assistant Morty Feeb. The Captain's goal is to study the Earthling, discover its weaknesses, and use that knowledge to conquer Earth. When Slimer tries to play with his toy saucer, its remote control inadvertently steers the actual ship, which the Captain immediately confiscates as a suspected secret weapon.

The ship arrives at a military research compound on Pluto, where Slimer is transported into a containment chamber he cannot phase through. He is then subjected to a series of tests that he cheerfully treats as games. A centrifuge spinner device is spun faster and faster until it overloads. An environmental simulator cycles through a snowstorm (Slimer plays in it), high winds (Slimer produces a kite), and the heat of ten suns (Slimer lounges in a chair, then roasts hot dogs over the flames). Each test ends with the Captain overloading the equipment in frustration. Eventually, the accumulated damage blows up half of Pluto. Slimer emerges from the rubble unharmed and asks what is next. The aliens promptly return him to New York City. Back at the Firehouse, Slimer resumes playing with his toy saucer, while somewhere in space the aliens' ship careens wildly out of control.

Characters

Morty Feeb and Captain Zito

Captain Zito and his assistant Morty Feeb are the episode's main antagonists. They are a pair of aliens from Pluto on a reconnaissance mission to Earth, tasked with identifying Earthling weaknesses ahead of a planned invasion. During their survey of New York City near the Firehouse, they encounter Slimer and mistake him for a standard Earthling specimen, setting the episode's plot in motion. Their extensive battery of tests fails to find any weakness in Slimer, and their entire testing compound is destroyed in the process. They appear only in this episode.

Captain Zito was voiced by guest voice actor Lewis Arquette. Morty Feeb was voiced by series regular Frank Welker. Morty speaks with an incongruous Scottish accent and is dressed in Scottish attire.

June Foray is credited as a guest voice actor in this episode.

Equipment and Locations

The episode features a Plutonian spacecraft and an alien military testing compound on Pluto. Slimer's remote-control flying saucer toy serves as a recurring prop and inadvertently interfaces with the aliens' ship controls.

Trivia

  • The first test in the simulator, the centrifuge spinner, resembles the kind of NASA centrifuge used to train astronauts.
  • Slimer hums the Ghostbusters theme while flying his kite in the wind-simulation test.
